え、神奈川県知事と対談してくれましたが、出産無償化の公約を達成していない横浜市長も攻めてほしいです。いや、でも、まできないやらない理由としては、それをやることで支持が増えないっていうのがあると思うんすよね。
あの、出産無償化って結構難しいんですよ。何を持って無償とするかっていうので。例えば、日本の場合って、無痛分娩になると自腹なので、基本的に多分60万とかそれぐらいかかっちゃうのかな。
フランスだと、8割9割の人が無痛分娩なんですけど、あの保険でカバーされるので。でも、日本の場合は、その無痛分娩っていうのは自腹っていうのがあって。
そうすると、多分その出産無償化の時に、その無痛分娩は無償化の対象になるべきなのかどうかっていうところで、多分議論に分かれると思うんですよね。

で、そうすると、その保険適用の部分だけが無償です。で、それ以外が無償じゃないですってなっちゃうと、そのベッド代どうするのとか、まあ様々な費用が無償にならなかったりするので、そこら辺のバランスを取るのが難しいっていうのはあるんじゃないかなと思います。

You see, free childbirth is actually quite difficult. It depends on what you define as “free.” For example, in Japan, if you choose pain-free childbirth, it’s self-funded, and it probably costs around 600,000 yen.
In France, 80-90% of women choose pain-free childbirth, and it’s covered by insurance. But in Japan, pain-free childbirth is self-funded.
So, when talking about free childbirth, I think there will be debates about whether pain-free childbirth should be included in the scope of what’s free.

As a result, only the parts covered by insurance would be free, and the rest wouldn’t be. Then, the question arises about how to handle the cost of the hospital bed and various other expenses that wouldn’t be free. Balancing those aspects would be difficult, I think.
